please, please, puleeze do not use any of the following cringe-inducing phrases ever again.
- move the needle
- user-friendly (let us be the judge!)
- cutting edge (or worse: bleeding edge)
- gal, or worse: gal-pal (way too Rosalind Russell)
- air guitar (so 80's! so Tom Cruise in his underpants!)
- kudos as a plural noun (it's singular) (and may we remind you once more about the difference
between it's and its?)
- down-sizing, or worse, right-sizing
- any "oholic" unless it is "alc"
- walking wounded
- wonk (plain or compound, as in grammar wonk)
- information super highway (yep, some of you are
still using it)
- old adage (there are no new adages; a saying's
not an adage until it's old)
- rice paddy (as redundant as "old adage")
- heads in beds
- land of contrasts
- commitment to excellence
- learning experience (it was a bad time; get over it)
- flavor of the month (unless you really mean,
say, Rocky Road)
